Description of Pelvic Mask

Pelvic Mask is a kind of Radiotherapy Mask. It is a kind of low-temperature thermoplastic polymer material. This material can be softened by 60℃ hot water and hardened for 3-5 minutes at room temperature.  

Pelvic Mask is one of the most commonly used materials in the radiotherapy of abdominal tumors. It is used to fix the patient's position, reduce the unnecessary damage to normal tissues caused by the patient's position movement, effectively improve the accuracy of radiotherapy positioning and placement, and improve the absorption of local lesions to radiation.

Classification of Pelvic Mask

1. Perfect fit to the patient's body contour, increase comfort and fixity;

2. Reduce unnecessary damage to normal tissues due to the patient's position movement;

3. Improve the absorption of local lesions to radiation;

4. Plasticity: It can completely soften when placed in hot water at 60-70°C and stretched appropriately at will. It is plastic and easy to operate; 

5. With memory function, when the plasticity is not satisfied, it can be put back into 60-70℃ hot water, softened again, and plastic again; 

6. After plasticity is complete, it can be left for 5-10 minutes to complete hardening.
