Its primary function is to maintain a sterile surgical field and protect sensitive imaging equipment from contamination by bodily fluids, dust, and surgical debris, while allowing the C-arm to be freely positioned.

Typically made from transparent, medical-grade plastic film (like polyethylene) or a non-woven fabric composite. It is strong, tear-resistant, and often anti-static.
