Description of PU Foam Dressing

PU Foam Dressing is medical material with a sponge-like texture. You can use it in conjunction with ointments and other dressings. 

The PU Foam Dressing is an effective tool for wet wound healing and has specialized absorption holes. The characteristics of the foam dressing are quick and massively absorption of exudate, viscous secretions, and cell debris. It can relieve the pressure and control exudate exudation. The foam dressing is suitable for preventing and dressing wounds, managing to exude wounds, and reducing dressing discomfort and pain.

Foam Dressings can also be used with alginate or silver dressings for more effective autolytic debridement of necrotic tissue.

Classification of PU Foam Dressing

According to their materials, it has two types:

1. silicone gel foam dressings

2. polyurethane foam dressings

1. Highly absorbent can absorb a large number of wound secretions;

2. Soft, comfortable, good compliance, and has the function of a pad;

3. No adhesion to the wound surface, no adhesion to the wound when replacing, no pain;

4. The specialized pore structure allows the exudate to be absorbed vertically and protects the wound edge from impregnation;

5. Has autolytic debridement and supports the growth of granulation tissue;

6. The surface is covered with waterproof and breathable polyurethane film, which is waterproof and prevents a bacterial invasion.
