Disposable light-proof infusion sets make use of gravity infusion like general infusion sets. However, due to the different properties of medications, the light will affect the stability of certain drugs. Therefore, disposable light-proof infusion sets mainly apply to the clinical infuse of drugs prone to photochemical degradation and anti-tumor drugs.
There are two commonly used materials for disposable light-proof infusion sets, one PVC plus light-proof agent, another kind of TPU for the inner layer, and PVC plus light-proof agent for the outer layer. The light-proof effect is good, and the light-proof rate is better than the national standard.
