Description of Chest Seal

A Chest Seal with 3-Vent Channels is a specialized emergency medical device designed for the management of open pneumothorax (sucking chest wound) in trauma patients. It is a valved occlusive dressing that covers an open chest wound to prevent air from entering the pleural cavity through the wound during inhalation, while its integrated vent channels allow trapped air to escape during exhalation, thereby reducing the risk of tension pneumothorax—a life-threatening complication.
