1. What is a cryovial?

Cryotubes, also known as cryotubes, are commonly used experimental consumables. Cryotubes were traditionally made of glass, but for reasons of convenience and cost, they are now more commonly made of polypropylene, engineered to withstand temperatures as low as -196°C without deforming when autoclaved. It is generally used for the cryopreservation of laboratory cells, and can also be used in biology, medicine, food, and other industries.

2. What is the difference between an external thread and an internal thread?

——The internal rotation cryopreservation tube is designed for freezing samples in the gas phase liquid nitrogen gas phase. The screw-on cap reduces the chance of contamination when handling samples.

3. What should be avoided when using cryovials?

---Avoid freezing tube explosion

When a vial containing a sample is removed from cryogenic temperatures, liquid nitrogen may infiltrate, causing the vial to expand as it transitions from a liquid to a gaseous state; or nitrogen gas may infiltrate, creating a cooler internal temperature compared to the external temperature of the room, so that the tube shrinks rapidly. The sudden change in temperature of these two conditions will cause the tube to expand and contract rapidly, causing the tube to explode.

4. What is the difference between cryovials and other types of vials?

——Advantages of cryotubes

1) 100 % sterile

To keep the cryovials free from contamination, they are sterilized by a process by SAL 10-6 established by DIN EN ISO11137. Additionally, there are no cytotoxic materials for increased sample safety, and the tubes are certified DNase- and RNase-free.

2) Leakproof

There are two designs of internal rotation and external rotation for cryogenic tubes. A unique feature of the external thread design is that it reduces the chance of leaks without increasing the volume of the cryovial. Orifice silicone gasket enhances cryovial seal

3) Durability

It is made of a unique acrylic material and has a wide pressure range of approximately 95kPa/0.95 bar. Materials are designed to be durable and withstand severe temperature stress and energy conditions.

5. Storage time of cryovials

·Unused cryovials can be stored at room temperature 2-8°C for 12 months;

·The inoculated cryopreservation tubes are stored at -20°C, and the strains can be preserved within 12 months;

·The inoculated cryopreservation tubes are stored at -80°C, and the strains can be preserved within 24 months.
